The Knife is here to inform, and to act as an outlet for the rambling ideas and pontifications no brain bouncing around in my head.

As the sign says, use your brain. I am not here to tell you what to think, nor to change your opinions by brute force of wit and dazzling words. I am here to discuss, argue, and understand. I want you to think along with me.

I'm a programmer by profession, scientist by training, and inherently a person of conflicting religious and skeptical beliefs. radio telescope I scour my RSS feeds daily to find the stories and topics screaming to be discussed and expounded on. The idea is to have that happen here.

This blog is different from others though, I think. I don't believe in comments in the traditional sense. I want to move any story discussions to an NNTP, or even a web based forum. The idea is proper discussions require a protocol that can provide the choice of application for postings dicussions, in addition provide the strengths of the proper discussing groups that include topic threading, proper attribution and other nutty details.
